- SPC in the sugar route
SPC started last month the regular operation of reception, transport and stuffing of containers with sugar bound for export. Resulting from the global logistic services performed by SPC this operation includes the following stages:
Reception at Sapec quay of ships with raw sugar, discharging operation and transport up to the sugar-refinery;
Transport in big-bags of the refined sugar from the factory up to SPC’s Rail Road Terminal in Setúbal where it will be consolidated in containers and subsequent loading on trains (3 per week) destined to Sines where they are embarked with MSC shipping line.
Daily quantities handled and consolidated - 400 tons The first allotment of 9,000 tons is now in progress and other will follow in a total foreseen of 100,000 tons / year. Intervenient companies: Sapec Terminais Portuários, DAI (refiner) SPC, MSC, and CP.
